Additional information about our Parent Mentors include:

bullet

The project provides free parent mentor services from one oral deaf adult and 11 parents located around the state.  All of these people have lived and breathed the "auditory lifestyle".

bullet

Our parent mentor network consists of mothers and fathers who can share first-hand experiences, provide information, and give comfort and support.

bullet

The children of the parent mentors range from pre-school to college age.

bullet

Parent mentors from the Auditory-Options Project are available at any location in Ohio.

bullet

Visits with parent mentors can be arranged for evenings and weekends to accommodate each family's schedule.

How to connect with a Parent Mentor:

bulletThe initial contact should be made through your Regional Infant Hearing Program (RIHP) parent advisor, outreach specialist, service coordinator, project director/coordinator, etc.
bulletAfter the initial visit, arrangements for additional visits with parent mentors can be made by contacting your RIHP representative, contacting the parent mentor directly, or contacting any of the Auditory-Options Project staff.
